Poitou-Charentes
Poitou-Charentes is a very charming region, from the lush green Marais Poitevin marshes to the sandy coastline of the beaches at La Rochelle, there is something here for everyone.

Well renowned for its Romanesque churches, there is plenty to see and do in Poitou-Charentes.

- Futuroscope – futuristic theme park presenting the latest technology. Located near Poitiers.
- Cognac – superb Cognac Otard Chateaux with wine tasting!
- The Ports of La Rochelle & Rochefort – very pretty towns offering the chance to sample some of the local seafood & produce.
- Ile d’Oleron – France’s second largest island after Corsica with fantastic beaches.

Aquitaine
From the flat sandy plains and pine forests of the Landes to the beautiful lagoon of the Bassin d’Arcachon, Aquitaine is very varied.
Bordeaux is one of the most well-known wine growing regions in France, with the region of Cognac proving a real attraction with Brandy lovers.
Further south towards the Pyrenees there is a real Spanish feel in the popular resorts of Bayonne & Biarritz.
The Dordogne valley offers something extra for those seeking more activities; canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horse riding & cycling.

- Family day out at Dune du Pilat – the largest sand dune in Europe, which runs south of the Bassin d’Arcachon for almost 2 miles.
- St Jean de Luz – comes to life in summer with stylish shops, restaurants & a market selling local delicacies.
- Parc Ornithologique at Le Teich – a sanctuary for some of Europe’s rarest birds.
- Wine tasting in Bordeaux – visit one of the 5000 chateaux or wine properties where grapes are grown & harvested.
